Terms of Service

1. Who can use MojeKash

You must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Kenya, and hold a valid Kenyan national ID and an active Safaricom mobile number registered in your name. By creating an account you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and belongs to you.

2. Your account

Your phone number is your login identifier and is verified by SMS code at registration and at every login. You are responsible for keeping your password, security PIN and phone secure. Anything done through your account with your credentials is treated as done by you.

You may set a 4-digit security PIN in your profile; once set, it is required to confirm every withdrawal.

3. Loan limits and applications

Every account is assigned a personal loan limit when it is created. You may borrow any amount up to your limit for a repayment period of 1 to 12 weeks. Interest accrues at the rate shown to you before you submit an application — what you see in the calculator is what you repay.

As part of an application we collect your national ID number, a photo of your ID, your date of birth, your location and details about your income. Applications are reviewed by automated checks; providing false, misleading or someone else's details will lead to rejection and may lead to account closure.

You may have only one approved loan awaiting its processing fee at a time.

4. Processing fee and disbursement

Approved loans attract a one-time processing fee, shown to you before payment, which is payable via M-Pesa before the loan is released. Once the fee is confirmed, the full loan amount is credited to your MojeKash wallet immediately.

The processing fee is not part of the loan and is not refundable once the loan has been disbursed to your wallet.

5. Withdrawals

Wallet withdrawals are made to Safaricom M-Pesa only. Every withdrawal request is reviewed and disbursed within a maximum of 24 hours. The requested amount is reserved from your wallet balance as soon as the request is made.

6. Repayment

Loans are repaid in weekly installments according to the schedule shown on your loan. You can repay early at any time without penalty. Late or missed payments may affect your credit score, your loan limit and your ability to borrow again.

7. Communications

By using MojeKash you consent to receiving transactional SMS messages on your registered Safaricom number, including verification codes, loan decisions and withdrawal status updates, as well as in-app notifications.

8. Acceptable use

You may not use MojeKash for any unlawful purpose, attempt to circumvent verification, open multiple accounts, or interfere with the operation of the service. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

9. Liability

MojeKash provides the service on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by Kenyan law, we are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, including mobile network or M-Pesa outages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use MojeKash after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
